ASHTANGA YOGA - This is an ancient system of yoga popularized by K. Pattabhi Jois from the teachings of T. Krishnamacharya. This method of yoga involves synchronizing the breath with a progressive series of postures. The teacher will guide you through sun salutations and lead you through certain poses to practice each time you go to class and will let you know when you are ready to move on to the next pose or add a few more poses to your routine. This practice produces intense internal heat and a profuse, purifying sweat that makes the body free of disease, gives a feeling of lightness and works on strengthening the body and calming the mind.
